I keep wondering whether and what sort of stance opensource should take about AI. We see AI rapidly advancing,
driven by the creators of various uses of it. AI is manifested as a "black box", much like closed-source programming.
One of the things that I would advocate as far as openness of AI is that one needs to be able to interrogate it.
By this, I mean that you should be able to ask some AI platform how it achieved some result or conclusion,
just as you would be able to ask a person how they came up with some answer or solution, rather than being left
with something like, "this is the answer and it is what it is."
There should be some ability to check the data sets that are the basis of AI, so that one can determine
potential flaws, errors, or biases in the outcomes.
There are no doubt other issues which other OSDN writers can advance also.
