[Writers] Review process and editorial calendar

Hi,

Previously with Opensource.com I usually submitted a Markdown file .md, but that's not listed in the style guide:

Document format

You can submit articles as .odt, .txt, .docx file attachments.

Will Markdown become an alternative in the future (or does it count as a .txt file)?
