[Writers] My amazing end-of-year review

Every semester, I teach a tech writing course about writing with digital
technologies. And of course, I include several open source options: we
write HTML and XML by hand, markdown, GitHub, LibreOffice, etc.

Last year, I co-wrote an article with my students about what open writing
technologies they most liked learning about:
https://opensource.com/article/23/1/open-source-tools-tech-writing

I wonder if that would be a good topic for this end of year review on
OpenSource.net: an article about 'my favorite *open source* tools and tech
for writing' that we learned this semester. What do you think?

*I couldn't write this article for Technically We Write, because I run that
site and I've committed that my current students cannot contribute articles
there. But co-authoring an article for OpenSource.net would be okay. *
